Like what Samuel has said, I guess I am really lucky to be in AJCO or AJCAACO. We have good friends around to help out one another. LOVE IS FINALLY IN THE AIR!

As promised earlier, we are going to put nice nice lovey dovey photographs here. Well... As a disclaimer, AJCAACO does not encourage AJCO juniors in BGR during your time in AJC wor!!! Hahahaha... Even if you have, don't say you are encouraged by your seniors. Well well... But I guess the rationale of this blog entry is to show how LOVELY it is to be in AJCAACO... HAHAHA... Enough of crap... Let's go to the photos bah!:

Wedding Shots:

(Above): This is the marriage photo of Yuliang and Lijun. Yuliang is the AJCO 13th batch God of Dizi. Correct me if I am wrong, he won the Dizi senior category (National Chinese Music Competition) during his time in JC. His wife, Lijun, is AJCO 16th batch president. Wah... Two elites of AJCO got married together... Hee... I have forgotten when they got married le. Should be around 3 years ago bah! I guess so far, this is the only marriage between two AJCO friends who eventually got married... But I am no doubt there will be more in future... Muahahaha...

(Above): The photographs above show a marriage between an ex-AJCO member and her friend she met elsewhere. The pretty gal with the nice nice smile is Liyan - the 13th batch AJCO president. You do not need to see her to know she is coming because Liyan has a kind of laugh nobody can imitate. If she comes back to any future events, we will try to make her laugh for all of you. Hee! Liyan is a very hardoworking person wor... She got herself degree in Sociology (NUS) first. After that she took night classes to get another degree in Social Work (NUS). Currently, she is working in MCYS as a social worker. GO LIYAN GO...

(Above): These two photographs of the pretty girl are "illegally" taken from her friendster without permission... Shhhhhh... =p I guess she won't mind. Also known as Pong Pong, Yufeng was the erhu player of the 14th batch AJCO. She has a younger sister called Michelle from the 16th batch AJCO as well. Anyway, she just gave birth to a pretty baby gal two weeks ago... CONGRATS YUFENG... Well well... When she is feeling better after her pregnancy, we will ask for photos of her baby and a marriage photo of Yufeng and her hubby... =D

(Above): This is the ROM photo of a 14th batch AJCO Yangqin player. So... now we have Peijun aka Feigou ( I think people called her "Feigou" cos of her name in Chinese character which looks like feigou) Both Peijun and her Hubby are teachers wor!!! Currently, Peijun is teaching Chinese at St. Hilda's Secondary School. She is also the school's band teacher I.C. Oh Oh... One More Thing... SHE SINGS REALLY WELL!!! The most powerful KTV female singer so far among all AJCO members... Challenge her if you dare... Muahaha!!!

Couple Shots:

(Above): This is the most explicitly loving couple ever. Tan Kahyong (14th Batch) and Cao Fengyi (15th Batch). Kahyong has already proposed to Fengyi below the Paris Eiffel in front of the crowds. Wah... So Romantic. Heard that he bought her an authentic LV bag ($1k+++ Wor). Wah wah wah... Girls out there... He is taken... Sorry... Muahaha... Tan Kahyong is a rare talent from AJCO. He is currently working as a free-lance composer for SCO and other orchestra. He is also involved in composing this year's NDP music. He has arranged various well-received CO tunes such as Dango San Kyodai, One Night In Beijing (performed by SCO last year) and many more. Cao Fengyi is a very friendly gal to be with. She craps and jokes a lot (maybe from the influence of Kahyong). An ultra nice friend to have. Last but not least... She has a 魔鬼般的身材 wor!!! So... Kahyong... You are so lucky to have Fengyi as well =D

(Above): Why did you give me this photo Chunming? This is supposed to be a blog on "Love is in the Air"... Not HATE!!! Anyway, Chunming (the guy) and Lilian (the girl) is a loving couple despite that deliberately-manipulated expressions in the photograph. Chunming is the 18th batch AJCO president and Lilian is an erhu player from the same batch. This is a very lovey dovey couple wor!

(Left): This is the most "spastic" photo so far... The most talk-about couple in a few of our AJCO alumni's blogs (The ___yan and ___yan gossip). These two persons hor... have been claiming to be the best friends of all ever since JC times... Always known as "Beauty and the Beast" (by Wenyan herself), the beauty, Wenyan, is the cellist player from 20th batch AJCO and the beast is the president (Erhu player) of the same batch. After so many years of "Best Friend" "We all only fren fren lah!!!", now the two yan-s are finally together... Let's give them a round of applause!!! Cap Clap Clap!!!

I guess other than the ____yan and ____yan, there is another young couple. The youngest of us all. Guess who? Yessh... They are Fukang (21st Batch) and Xiaoting (22nd Batch)... This couple teamed up becomes the most skilled musicians... No one can beat them de lor... Fukang played lan hua hua before and Xiao Ting also played a liuqin concerto (Where got ppl in Singapore know how to play liuqin concerto other than that SCO guy?) Anyway, I know they are a very sweet couple... Nothing escapes Mr President's eyes... Hee... =P

(Above): Last but not least... ITS ME AND XIUHUA... Muahahaha... I have saved the best for the last. I am the current (3rd batch) AJCAACO President. Many people will introduce me as the "Grandmother story" president. I am the only alumni from the 16th Batch AJCO. (I dunno where are the others now.) Well well... As most of you all will know I play the pipa. Xiuhua is from the 14th batch AJCO - Liuqin. (Just like the Liuqin and Pipa, Xiuhua is the smaller size among the two of us =p) Both of us provide a 24 Hour Hotline service to juniors in need of help. Please take note... Xiuhua takes the morning shift and I take the night shift. Basically, we dun mind giving a listening ear to anyone out there who wants to complain or anything lah... Haha... We are nice people wor... Hee!!! That is XIUHUA AND MEEEEE =D

I just asked my pipa friend studying in Shanghai about the cost of that crystal pipa. It is 15000RMB (around $3000). I hope I can get one in future and bring it to busk in the streets. Then, anyone who wants to talk a photo with it needs to pay 20 bucks. So I can earn back the $3000 quite fast. Yeah! Can we use our petty cash to buy this pipa? Hahaha. Then AJCAACO will be the first to have such a pipa in Singapore. Yeah!!!

so it was my acjo teacher-in-charge's （陈老师）retirement dinner on friday. he will be leaving the school after 20+ years in education and 14 years in ACJO. it was an evening of gratitude and a walk down memory lane.

ajco was a 'chance eca' for myself. i had no CO background knowledge and my interest in classical chinese music was limited to the occassional hongkong serials with a catchy tune.

I applied for 2 other ecas, but by some strange twist of events, i ended up in ajco and devoted much of my time and energy in it. thinking back, ajco could easily account to be a place where i spent most of my jc years in. the 华乐室 was like a hideaway. the comm would practice, eat, nap, play and copy homework in there. i remember i would open up the music room with my illegal pair of keys (sort of like a 'heirloom' from one batch to the next) for CO people to gather before school starts every morning.

its a pity the old music room has been converted to a lab and the new 华乐室 seems to just lack the warm comfort (and the loose ceiling panes, leakages, insects etc) of the old room.

so, the old fogies like us (the current batch is 10 yrs younger!!) were just talking about old times on friday....like how the ex-comm would go back on saturdays from 10am for the jc1 practices and stay through to 10pm after our concert prac (suprisingly, no one really complained...=p) , the long, boliao and often laugh until can flip meetings,the used to be jubliee foodcourt's tomyam 版面was our staple for saturday lunches, the '天书' where we wrote all the CO bitching (and how our conductor went red after he read the very 1st entry and complaint of him, by ME....), how we went to the other jcs and sec schools to sell our concert tickets,how the ex-comm went all out to convince and '骗' juniors to join CO, our lack of 音准 and 节拍, the 几只小猫 attendence during practices, how we felt a sense of emptiness after the concert, creating the first alumni newsletter 心玄in wenyin's amk living room and of cos, THE concert at the '老人剧场' kreta ayer theatre in chinatown.....

it had been a fun 2 years. even though our level of participation may have dwindled, we do hope that ajco will continue to be the playful and energetic group as it had been 10 years ago.
